Or they might say, ‘Oh, it’s that those countries that had that war some time ago. . . they’re near one another, and they’re all the same’.

“Prevention is, without a doubt, better than cure.” This is the stand many Mekong nations are now adopting in its battle against Avian Flu. Cambodia has not been spared from the grips of this pandemic. Thankfully, they are not too late in addressing the situation from a preventive standpoint.
In recent months, labs have been built, safety equipment have been put in place. At the borders, the tightening of security has ensured that only fully-certified poultry may enter the country. Educational campaigns have been mounted throughout the community, spreading information on the deadly virus.
Sophea Promviceth’s report accurately depicts the kingdom’s vigilance, and shows how this country has set an example to its neighbours.

Journalism Workshop Applications Deadline Moved to Dec. 2, 2011
Due to the current flooding crisis in Bangkok, the Mekong Energy Journalism Workshop, originally set for Nov. 27-30, 2011, has been moved to 17 - 20 January 2012. Application submission deadline is on Dec. 2, 2011. The selection result will be announced on Dec. 14, 2011.
