Mekong Photos Make Their Way to Ethiopia
A selection of photographs -- the work of photojournalists and writers under the Imaging Our Mekong programme -- will be on exhibit at the Second International Forum on Water and Food in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Nov. 10-14, 2008.
There will be on a session on Mekong issues, enriched by the presence and involvement of the Mekong Programme on Water, Environment and Resilience (M-POWER). IPS Asia-Pacific has been a member of M-POWER since its formation five years ago.
The images from the Mekong fellowship programme will present, in a colourful and realistic way, the different facets of water and development in the Mekong region and the challenges that come with these.
The Second International Forum on Water and Food is being hosted by the Challenge Program on Water and Food (CPWF). One of the forum's major objectives is to highlight the new knowledge generated during the first phase of the CPWF. In addition to keynotes from high-profile scientists and policymakers, the Forum programme will include presentations from selected CPWF projects and concurrent sessions on Science and Impact. Specific sessions that explore the impact of research on livelihoods will add some powerful commentary to the severe water and food challenges confronting our world today.
