The phrase ‘Opening Borders’, which appears in this book’s title, also describes what the 21 journalists whose work appear here were doing while reporting on issues that link at least two countries in the Mekong Region.

The Imaging Our Mekong 2007 DVD is the latest compilation of the works of the television fellows under the 5th cycle (2006-07) of the Imaging Our Mekong media fellowship programme.

The Imaging Our Mekong 2005-06 DVD is the latest compilation of the works of the television fellows for the Imaging Our Mekong Media Fellowship 2005-2006, a programme that is implemented by Probe Media Foundation Inc and IPS Asia-Pacific, with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation.

The DVD set has seven documentaries, from filmmakers from Cambodia, Lao PDR, China and Thailand. The first video provides a background on the fellowship activities; the next videos are their documentaries on ethnic groups, food, children, migrants and commodities in the region.

This 2-disc DVD is a compilation of the documentaries created by the Imaging The Mekong Fellows for the 2004-05 cycle. DVD 1 provides a background on the fellowship activities translated in the six Mekong languages. One documentary per country is presented in the second DVD. The fellows faced numerous challenges in producing these documentaries, from getting permission to shoot across the border, travelling across and near border areas, to convincing people to be interviewed.
